This is a large gourd which is woodburned, carved, has dyes and a seagrass
rim with beads. Four large cats from Africa, with four warriors. Who is
the predator and who is the prey?
Three other views, Leopard and Serval and Cheetah. This gourd was created for
a category in the competition class at the 2010 TGS Gourd Festival. The category
was the International category. These cats and warriors exist in the same region
of Africa.
"Leopard" - For Sale $150.
This is a small gourd, approx. 15" tall. It was created with ink, carving, leather dyes,
and colored pencil. The Leopard is painted with colored pencil and the cats whiskers
were carved with a power carver.

This is a large gourd which is woodburned, painted, carved, inlayed with beads
and has a woven sea grass rim. It stands approx. 21" high.

This is a medium sized gourd which is woodburned, has color pencil, is carved,
inlayed with beads and has a closed coil rim.

Mother Africa - 1st Place at the Texas Gourd Festival 2007.
This gourd features the 'Big Five' of the African plain – Elephant, Lion,
Zebra, Rhinoceros and Giraffe. It is created with woodburning,
acrylic paint and is also slightly carved. There are imbeded beads
in the bottom decorative band and around the upper neck. The African Mother
atop this gourd is created out of an egg gourd and her features are molded out of
air dried clay. Her earrings are real, her ears are pierced and her necklaces are
actual strung beads. She has several cloth head bands which match her necklaces.
The bottom of this gourd features tribal masks. Large gourd.

Jungle Cat – 3rd Place at the Texas Gourd Festival 2007.
This gourd is woodburned, cut and painted. The leaf top is cut from a
different gourd so that it drapes the jungle scene below it. Medium gourd. – SOLD
